KP Achieves Major Milestone in Digital Transformation: Safi Jan
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has achieved significant progress in its digital transformation journey, with hundreds of government services being mapped, redesigned, and digitized under a comprehensive strategy to enhance governance, transparency, and youth employment, officials said on Tuesday.
The province is rapidly moving towards a cashless and paperless governance model, with 462 services currently in the complete digital transformation pipeline under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology board (KPITB). Furthermore, 795 government services have been mapped for end-to-end digital delivery under the Cashless Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiative, while 800 services are currently undergoing business process re-engineering for digital redesign.
In a statement issued here, Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan said the digital initiatives are laying the foundation for a modern, citizen-friendly governance system where technology is making public services easier, faster, transparent, and more accessible. He emphasized that these measures are not merely about digitization but represent a strategic investment in better governance, youth empowerment, and the province’s digital future.
Highlighting financial and skill-development achievements, the minister said that digital transactions worth 6.8 billion rupees have been recorded across the province through Cashless KP platforms. Revenue channels under the cashless system generated 4.3 billion rupees by March 2026, while the Paymir platform alone contributed 726 million rupees in digital payments during March and April 2026.
On the youth front, 870 young individuals from the merged districts have successfully completed training in employable digital skills. Additionally, research and innovation are being promoted through the Frontiers in Science program, offering a maximum research grant of 40 million rupees per consortium.
Minister Shafi Jan said the journey to build a modern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa driven by technology-enabled convenience, transparency through digital systems, and youth equipped with advanced skills is progressing steadily. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for economic strengthening and creating new employment opportunities for the province’s youth.
