KP Adviser For Transparent Disposal Of Timber Lying In Chitral
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 09, 2026) Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Forests, Environment and Wildlife, Pir Musawir Khan, on Wednesday directed the Forest Development Corporation to ensure the timely removal, safe relocation, and transparent auction of timber lying in Chitral.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting at the Forest Development Corporation office, which reviewed arrangements for disposing of the timber within the stipulated period, in line with a Cabinet decision.
Secretary Forests and Environment Junaid Khan and senior officials of the Forest Department attended the meeting and briefed the adviser on the proposed mechanism for shifting the timber to safe locations, conducting auctions, and collecting the resulting revenue.
Pir Musawir Khan called for a coordinated strategy to complete the process within the prescribed timeframe and ensure timely recovery of government revenue. He stressed that transparency and merit must guide every stage of the process and directed the department to take all necessary measures to protect forest resources.
The adviser stated that the government is committed to bringing the Forest Department in line with modern requirements and improving its efficiency through effective management and transparent procedures.
