KP Assembly Demands Effective Legislation on Crimes Against Children
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 25, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday passed a unanimous resolution expressing concern over the rising incidents of child abuse, violence, and sexual crimes against children.
The resolution, presented by government member Qasim Ali Shah, called for immediate measures to prevent abuse and exploitation of minors. It urged the government to introduce effective legislation to prevent crimes against children and ensure strict implementation of existing laws.
Additionally, the House called for:
- Improvements in the police and investigation system
- Speedy justice in cases involving children
- Strict punishment for perpetrators
- Elimination of unnecessary delays in investigations and judicial proceedings
- Legal, psychological, and social support for affected children and their families
- Measures to end child marriages
- Protection of children’s rights
