KP Cabinet Approves Various Decisions Including Prisons and Witness Protection

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Cabinet has approved several decisions concerning prisons, witness protection, vehicle registration, and other matters. This was announced by Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan in a statement regarding the provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
During the meeting, the performance report of the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office for 2025 was presented and approved for presentation in the provincial assembly. The cabinet also approved:
- The establishment of two subordinate units.
- A government-to-government agreement.
- Revised rates and a 2-month remission for prisoners involved in minor cases.
- Issuing a notification in accordance with the rules and regulations following the decision on special remission.
Jan further outlined that the cabinet was briefed on the mechanism for distributing water from Galiyat to Murree, along with rates and outstanding dues, and approved presenting this matter before the Council of Common Interests.
