KP Food Department Distributes 306,303 Flour Bags Through Dealers

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa food department supplied a total of 306,303 bags of flour to consumers through 1,639 active flour dealers at official rates.

Distribution Details:

  • Peshawar Division: 86,854 bags
  • Mardan Division: 40,401 bags
  • Malakand Division: 59,264 bags
  • Hazara Division: 65,682 bags
  • Bannu Division: 20,700 bags
  • Dera Ismail Khan Division: 33,402 bags
  • Kohat Division: 23,224 bags

Officials took action against dealers and flour mills violating prescribed SOPs and relevant laws. In Peshawar, the quota and licenses of 14 flour dealers were cancelled, while 11 dealers in Khyber district faced similar action. Similar measures were taken in Charsadda and Nowshera districts.

The provincial government is providing a 20kg bag of government flour at Rs 2,520 through designated dealers. Teams from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority and Food Department monitor wheat and flour quality. Strict action will be taken against mills supplying substandard flour.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Food, Dr. Muhammad Israr Khan, urged citizens to report any substandard flour to the authorities. He assured that the quota of mills found supplying substandard flour would be cancelled, and legal proceedings would be initiated against violators.
