KP Government Allocates Rs.5.6b For Road Construction in Galiyat

(ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026)) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a major Rs. 5.6 billion road construction and rehabilitation initiative in Galiyat to enhance connectivity to the region’s popular tourist destinations and provide safer, more convenient travel for tourists and locals.
Under this project, construction and rehabilitation work is underway on 63.65 kilometers of crucial tourist roads, encompassing areas such as Abbottabad, Nathiagali, Ayubia, and other scenic spots in Galiyat.
The project aims to:
- Improve road infrastructure
- Ensure safer and smoother access to the region, especially during peak tourism season
- Benefit both tourists and local communities by providing better access to popular destinations and improved connectivity
- Boost the local economy by facilitating movement of people and goods, supporting tourism-related businesses
- Enhance Galiyat’s tourism potential, encouraging more visitors and longer stays
The provincial government’s investment is seen as a significant step towards strengthening tourism infrastructure and creating better travel facilities while supporting the livelihoods of communities dependent on tourism in Galiyat.
