Lahore Marks Defence Day with Flag Hoisting and Tributes to Martyrs
Lahore celebrated Defence Day and unveiled the Hilal-e-Istiqlal award on Sunday, honoring the nation's armed forces and martyrs through a solemn ceremony at Jinnah Hall.
Commissioner Lahore, Nauman Yousaf, along with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz, representatives from the Pakistan Armed Forces, and senior government officials attended. The event featured a police contingent salute, national tunes played by the police band, and a parade by scouts and Civil Defence personnel.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Yousaf praised the martyrs and their parents, emphasizing the importance of honesty, hard work, and collective dedication for Pakistan's development. He described the Hilal-e-Istiqlal as a significant honor for Lahore, highlighting that Defence Day serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made to protect the country.
