Lahore Session Judge Issues Important Orders on Judicial Officers’ Vehicles
Lahore Session Judge Tariq Khursheed Khawaja has issued crucial orders concerning personal and monetized vehicles of judicial officers.
He barred judicial officers from using:
- Green registration number plates
- Blue lights
- Any other symbol indicating government vehicle ownership
Background of the Order
The letter from Judge Khawaja states that some monetized vehicles appeared to be government vehicles, necessitating clear instructions for judicial officers’ personal vehicles. A monetized vehicle will now be considered private and personal, and its appearance must not suggest government affiliation under any circumstances.
Specific Restrictions:
- No green registration plates or plates indicating government vehicle status.
- No display of Lahore High Court or Punjab District Judiciary monograms, logos, seals, stickers, or badges.
- Prohibited from displaying official emblems, flags, or wording that creates the impression of an official vehicle.
- Judicial officers cannot display their designation or status on vehicles.
- Installation of blue lights, beacons, rotating lights, or flashers on monetized vehicles is prohibited, including keeping a blue light inside the vehicle.
The letter warns that any violation will be taken seriously and reported to the relevant authority. The orders have been sent to all judicial officers in Lahore with directions for strict implementation.
