Lawyers Continue Strike Over Abbottabad Filtration Plant Dispute
Abbottabad, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) A meeting between the district administration and lawyers was held at the Abbottabad District Bar as efforts continued to resolve the dispute over the filtration plant.
Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem visited the District Bar and apologized to the lawyers’ general body over the conduct of Assistant Commissioner Afrasiyab Zubair. He urged all stakeholders to remain within their respective jurisdictions and work together to maintain peace in the city.
District and Sessions Judge Abid Sarwar said the lawyers’ eight-day strike had caused difficulties for citizens, particularly in family, guardianship and other cases. He stressed that dialogue was the best way to resolve the issue.
However, the lawyers, particularly the young lawyers, decided to continue their strike until the suspension or transfer of Assistant Commissioner Afrasiyab Zubair.
