LDA Implements Digital Check-and-Balance System Against Illegal Notices, Impostor Officials
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) The
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has implemented a modern digital check-and-balance system to counter illegal notices and impostor officials.
LDA Director General Muhammad Tahir Farooq has urged citizens to verify the identity cards of LDA staff; a special cell comprising LDA officers has also been established.
According to the LDA DG, notices will now feature QR codes that citizens can verify themselves. Uniformed staff will issue notices only while displaying their identification cards.
Muhammad Tahir Farooq stated that the LDA is procuring body-worn cameras, in future operations, officials will record their actions using these cameras. He added that if necessary, action would be taken following a review of the recorded footage in response to citizens’ complaints.
