Liam Gallagher’s Tambourine Grin and Charli XCX’s Final Bow at Brat – Abbey Road Music Photography Awards 2026 Shortlist

Striking photographs of Oasis’s reunion tour and Charli XCX closing out Brat at Glastonbury Festival are among the nominees for this year’s Abbey Road Music Photography Awards. The awards, which considered over 24,500 submissions from 42 countries, revealed a shortlist of 40 finalists across eight categories on Tuesday.

Highlights include images of Kendrick Lamar, Fontaines DC, Tame Impala, and Sombr, along with shots of FKA Twigs, nominated out-of-competition for judges’ awards. All finalist photographs will be displayed at Outernet London from September 8th to 14th, including the five contenders for the fan-voted Music Moment of the Year award.

Voting is available online via the official website and in-person at the exhibition. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Abbey Road Studios on September 24th.

Head judge Rankin, British photographer and director, praised the submissions as "genuinely exceptional," showcasing "energy, emotion, and a real point of view."

This year’s guest category celebrates 50 years of punk, with special recognition for photographers Roberta Bayley and Masayoshi Sukita. The judging panel includes artists from music and photography backgrounds, such as Nile Rogers and Raye.

Here are some more notable nominees:

  • Harriet Bols: Liam (right) and Noel Gallagher of Oasis sharing a moment on stage but off mic during their band’s penultimate Wembley Stadium show of their 2025 comeback tour (Music Moment of the Year)
  • Joshua Halling: A single Oasis fan caught in the middle of the swirling, chaotic movement of the River Plate stadium crowd in Buenos Aries, Argentina
