Director Livestock and Dairy, Rawalpindi, Naveed Sahar, on Thursday stated that dedicated operational teams of the Livestock Department are actively deployed across various regions of Rawalpindi to execute mass vaccination drives and administer necessary medical interventions to safeguard cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD).

Speaking to APP, the Director emphasized the continuous monitoring of the regional situation, with field units instructed to ensure comprehensive vaccination coverage and targeted medical care in affected areas. She urged livestock farmers to promptly isolate sick or suspected animals from healthy herds and contact the Livestock Department upon noticing disease symptoms.

This development follows reports from local farmers in Sukhwal, Dhoke Bhara, Kamrial, and adjoining localities, where several cattle exhibited LSD symptoms, including high fever, weakness, loss of appetite, and skin nodules, prompting requests for enhanced containment measures.

Naveed Sahar reaffirmed that departmental teams are actively conducting animal inspections, disease identification, and vaccination drives in the specified areas, with additional containment steps implemented as required by the situation.
