Madrid F1 Circuit Changes After Criticism
Organisers of the Spanish Grand Prix are considering modifications to the new Madrid circuit following driver complaints about lack of overtaking opportunities during the inaugural race.
Drivers expressed concerns:
- Alex Albon (Williams) described the race as "pretty boring."
- Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) admitted he "almost fell asleep" during the event.
While drivers praised the track’s challenge on a single lap, Lando Norris (McLaren) noted a section was "useless" and called it "not a great racetrack."
Team Bosses’ Response:
- Frederic Vasseur (Ferrari): Praised the infrastructure and Madrid’s enthusiasm for modifications in the future.
- Toto Wolff (Mercedes): Congratulated Madrid on a successful first attempt, acknowledging the temporary nature of the circuit and its potential for improvement regarding overtaking opportunities.
