NEW DELHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 26th Aug, 2026) Majra – National CSR Fund, the UAE’s national umbrella for Corporate Social Responsibility, has highlighted its vision for strengthening cross-border partnerships, emphasizing the transition from market access to long-term strategic collaboration aligned with national priorities. This shift aims to deliver credible and measurable economic, social, and environmental impact.
These remarks were shared by Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra – National CSR Fund, during her participation in the session "Partnering with the UAE: Pathways for Cross-Border Impact," organized by the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) in India.
The session gathered UAE leaders and representatives from across Asia to explore strategies for establishing meaningful and sustainable partnerships with the UAE. The discussion covered:
- How UAE institutions assess and select international partners.
- Practical pathways for organizations seeking to build partnerships in the UAE.
- Opportunities to leverage international expertise, resources, and innovation towards aligning with national priorities for sustainable and scalable impact.
Shaw emphasized that successful cross-border partnerships demand a shift from asking "What can we bring to the UAE?" to "What can we build with the UAE?". This transition reflects moving from transactional engagement to partnerships founded on shared purpose, complementary capabilities, and tangible outcomes.
She stated, "The strongest partnerships are not built around market access alone. They are built around shared purpose, national alignment, and measurable outcomes."
Shaw further added that Majra strives to strengthen a Sustainable Impact Ecosystem bringing together government entities, the private sector, academic institutions, third-sector organizations, and communities around shared objectives and outcomes. Connecting this ecosystem with Asian expertise, innovation, knowledge, and capabilities can unlock new opportunities for co-creating national impact and generating long-term national value.
During the session, Majra shed light on its evolving approach to CSR, ESG, and sustainability. It emphasized that partnerships should increasingly be evaluated based on their ability to generate tangible outcomes and demonstrate credible and measurable impact, rather than solely by the scale of activities or resources committed.
