Roberto Mancini has stated that the alleged "double contract" during his time as Manchester City manager is "not my concern" following the club's guilt on most charges brought by the Premier League.

These charges included 14 instances of failing to provide accurate player and manager payment details from 2009-10 to 2017-18, covering Mancini's tenure as City boss during which he won the FA Cup in 2011 and City's first top-flight title for 44 years in 2012.

"Found guilty of what?" Mancini asked at a news conference before Monday's Nations League game against Turkey. "It’s not an issue that concerns me," he continued, "This matter has been discussed for the last four or five years."

He went on to clarify: "Manchester City has not been found guilty, and the alleged double contract is not my concern. It's their issue, not mine."

German newspaper Der Spiegel previously accused City of paying a significant portion of Mancini’s compensation through a "fictitious consultancy contract", suggesting he was paid more by City for his role as a consultant to Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira than he received from being City manager, excluding bonuses and incentives.

While the Premier League declined to comment, City released a statement affirming that "the Premier League process remains ongoing" with sanctions yet to be determined. They also maintained their stance on confidentiality and fairness in the regulatory process.

Other Premier League clubs are understood to have been informed about the decision and are seeking legal advice regarding potential compensation claims. City was charged with over 100 breaches of financial rules following a four-year investigation initiated in February 2023.
