Man Dies After Soil Collapse During Well Excavation In Layyah
LAYYAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) A 28-year-old man died after being trapped under soil when a mound collapsed during the excavation of a 20-foot-deep well near Fatehpur in Chak No 102-ML.
Rescue 1122 officials said an ambulance and rescue vehicle reached the site soon after receiving information about the incident and launched a rescue operation. The rescuers managed to pull the man out from under the soil after an operation. He was found unconscious and the rescue personnel performed CPR on him for around 10 minutes, but his breathing could not be restored.
The deceased was identified as Anser Ali. His body was handed over to his family for burial, Rescue 1122 said.
