Man in court charged with murder after fire deaths in Grangetown
BBC News reports that a 23-year-old man, Jaden Wright, appeared in court charged with murdering Natalie McDonald and her seven-year-old niece, Valentina Foster, who died in a house fire on 26 August 2026.
Wright, who has no fixed address, was also charged with multiple grievous bodily harm offences, relating to the six people present in the house at the time of the blaze.
During a brief hearing at Teesside Magistrates’ Court, Wright was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.
No pleas were entered.
