BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) A man named Shahid (26), residing in Fareed Colony, Ahmedpur East, met his untimely end after being struck by the Karachi-to-Lahore Awami Express train while attempting to cross the railway track near Ahmedpur East Railway Station on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, Shahid sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot after being hit by the train. The body was subsequently shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Ahmedpur East, for legal formalities and a post-mortem examination. It was later handed over to his heirs after completion of the necessary procedures.
