There is no distance between Maryam Nawaz and me; Allah has given her an opportunity and she is going through a test, and I still want her to become prime minister because she can deliver, Capt (R) Safdar said.

Captain (retd) Safdar has stated that Maryam Nawaz’s time is extremely valuable. She goes to sleep at 9 p.m. and reaches the office at 8 a.m., thus she should not be disturbed. God has given her an opportunity, and she is undergoing a period of testing. He expressed his desire for Maryam Nawaz to become prime minister as he believes she can deliver.
Speaking in an interview, he mentioned that she had been raised properly by her parents and that he had voted for her to become prime minister. He shared his disappointment but emphasized that it is now clear that just as she had beautified Punjab, she could also beautify Pakistan.
After the election, Maryam Nawaz messaged him that the parliamentary party had selected him to become the chief minister. He congratulated her and affirmed there is no separation between him and Maryam Nawaz. He noted that he avoids photographs, stating that one should keep the image in their hearts as it cannot become blurred.
If Maryam Nawaz becomes prime minister, Captain Safdar humorously stated that he might not even contest the election.
Referring to an interview by Khawaja Asif, he emphasized the need to cautiously move forward with the system. He likened it to a seven-month-old baby in a hospital, requiring careful care from doctors, and suggested that introducing a football too early would be detrimental.
He compared the political systems of Pervez Musharraf and Imran Khan, arguing that the country has been pushed towards democracy, and it should not be forced further but rather allowed to function. He questioned the timing of a "respect the vote" campaign, considering the current circumstances of the country, including the Iran-involving war and high oil prices.
Instead, he advocated for the government to complete its five-year term. He noted that the public’s demand might be for "respect the vote" or not, but the focus should be on educating their children and the difficulties life has become.
He shared that he last watched television on February 8, 2024, when he saw a report that Nawaz Sharif had lost in Mansehra, which he considered a lie and led him to stop watching TV.
