Masked boy guilty of trying to murder schoolgirl

Published: 21 October 2026, 11:44 BST Updated: 2 minutes ago

A masked teenager who stabbed a schoolgirl in the back, armed with a kitchen knife, has been found guilty of attempted murder.

Police were called to Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich on 11 March following reports of the attack on a 15-year-old girl.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, brought a knife to school, dressed in black, wore a face mask, and had written notes expressing hatred towards women, the trial heard.

He will be sentenced on 18 December.

After a three-and-a-half-hour deliberation, jurors delivered their verdict in the two-week trial at King's Lynn Crown Court.

Prosecutors argued that the teenager "went to school not to learn, but to kill".

The school went into lockdown, and armed police responded to the incident, while the victim was taken to hospital with a minor injury.

CCTV footage captured the moment the girl was stabbed in the back, as she told a teacher, "Sir, I've been stabbed".
