May 9 Violence Case: Court Adjourns Dewan’s Bail Plea
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan's post-arrest bail petition in a case related to the May 9 violence at Sherpao Bridge was adjourned until tomorrow by an anti-terrorism court (ATC).
The court ordered the police to produce the complete case record at the next hearing, granting them additional time to submit it. ATC Judge Malik Abid Hussain presided over the proceedings.
Dewan is currently in jail on judicial remand after being arrested under FIR No. 97/23 registered at Sarwar Road Police Station. According to the investigating officer, Dewan was present at the scene and allegedly involved in making speeches, acts of arson, and vandalism at the bridge. The prosecution also claims that he participated in the violence alongside other PTI leaders.
Remember that in light of these allegations, the court is evaluating Dewan's bail plea.
