Mayor of Larkana Announces Lahooti Mella for 21 September
LARKANA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur, Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Larkana, has announced that the Lahooti Mela will be held in Larkana on September 21, 2026. He invited all Council members to participate in the event.
During a general meeting of all members of the Municipal Council Larkana, he revealed plans to increase rent for Mahfil Hotel (owned by the Corporation) and other properties, while also implementing proposals submitted by Council members.
He highlighted the installation of solar lights across the city but emphasized the need for proper maintenance. Teams have been dispatched to assess the need for additional lighting in Union Councils, with 80-100 lights planned for each area. He also stressed the importance of protecting these lights and pledged to approach WAPDA authorities for support.
Key initiatives include:
- Enhancing revenue through increased hotel rent
- Improving maintenance of existing solar lights
- Installing new lighting in Union Councils
- Constructing parks for family recreation
- Ensuring the integrity of Sindh, rejecting any claims of division
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh, Khair Muhammad Sheikh, also spoke at the meeting. He emphasized the need to restore non-functional lights and proposed an upgrade of electricity poles to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal.
Eleven proposals were presented and unanimously approved, including:
- Financial assistance for poor women
- Distribution of sewing machines to support livelihood
The meeting concluded with a resolution affirming Sindh’s unity.
