Member of the UK armed forces has died in a road traffic incident in Ukraine, Ministry of Defence announces.

A member of the UK armed forces has died in a road traffic incident in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed. The individual’s family has requested privacy and has "requested a period of grace before further details are released", according to the MoD.
The incident occurred on Saturday and was not a result of hostile action, as per BBC understanding.
The British government has previously acknowledged a small number of personnel in Ukraine supporting Kyiv’s armed forces and providing security for diplomatic staff.
"Our thoughts and our sympathies are with the individual’s loved ones at this difficult time," stated the MoD.
It remains unclear which service branch the individual belonged to or their specific role.
Fighting has persisted in Ukraine since Russia launched a full-scale invasion in February 2022.
