Men’s Handball Players Feeling Confident Vs. Middle East Powers at Asian Games
UrduPoint (September 9, 2026) – South Korean men’s handball players are expressing confidence ahead of the Asian Games in Japan this month. Two recent MVPs from the South Korean league, Lee Yo-seb and Park Kwang-soon, believe their team can defeat Middle East powers to claim gold.
Lee, the current MVP, stated:
"In terms of organization and speed, I think we are better than those Middle East teams… Of course, they have improved over the years, but we have put in more work and combined our strengths."
Park Kwang-soon, who won MVP awards in 2021 and 2025, echoed these sentiments. He noted that preparing for the Games in his hometown of Jincheon has given him a sense of responsibility.
Team captain Ha Min-ho, 34, agreed on the importance of speed, saying:
"We have been working on quick transitions to create chances… I will lead the team back to the top and help our talented young players shine."
Other team members, goalkeeper Park Jae-yong and right back Kim Yeon-bin, expressed excitement about their debut at the Asian Games, with Kim stating his goal:
