Middle East Energy 2026 officially kicked off today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, marking the landmark 50th edition of the region’s leading energy event.
The event commenced with a high-level ceremony and walkthrough led by:
- H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group

During the tour, attendees had the opportunity to engage with leading energy companies and explore cutting-edge technologies shaping the sector.
In his opening address, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to:
- Diversifying its energy portfolio
- Strengthening energy security while accelerating the transition to cleaner and more sustainable sources like solar power
- Examples include the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant and the world’s largest 24/7 solar-plus-storage project (5.2 GW of solar power and 19 GWh of battery storage).
He emphasized the need for collective action to achieve a sustainable and resilient energy future, calling on:
- Governments
- Industry
- Investors
- Technology companies
- Academia
- Financial institutions
to work together.
