Sindh Minister for prisons, Ali Hassan Zardari on Tuesday visited the Central Jail Hyderabad to review facilities and arrangements being provided to prisoners.
During the visit, the provincial minister conducted a detailed inspection of the jail kitchen and reviewed cleanliness arrangements, quality of food items and the food preparation process. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure provision of quality and balanced food to prisoners in accordance with the law.
Ali Hassan Zardari also met visitors who had come to meet prisoners. He inquired about their well-being, listened to their problems and directed the jail administration to make the visiting process more transparent and convenient so that families travelling from distant areas did not face any difficulties.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister said that prisons were reforming institutions and protection of prisoners’ human rights along with their welfare was among the government’s priorities. He directed the jail administration to further improve measures for prisoners’ rehabilitation and welfare while ensuring effective security arrangements.
