Ministers Orders Steps To Improve Chuna Mandi College Facilities
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Provincial Ministers for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat and Information Azma Zahid Bokhari, on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the board of Governors of Government Graduate College Chuna Mandi and took several decisions to improve the institution’s performance and facilities.
The meeting approved Honhaar scholarships for all female students of the college who had applied for the scholarship programme. It also approved the launch of skills development courses to provide students with additional educational and professional opportunities.
Rana Sikandar Hayat and Azma Bokhari directed the college administration to:
- Hire female sanitary workers and a female caretaker.
- Introduce a digital payment system.
- Conduct an audit of previous payments.
Azma Bokhari further directed immediate measures to improve facilities at the college, warning of strict action if enrolment was not improved. She stressed that negligence in providing facilities to students would not be tolerated.
Both Ministers rejected the college management’s proposal to increase fees, emphasizing that it was the government’s responsibility to ensure female students could continue their education within their financial means.
Azma Bokhari also instructed the administration to strictly prevent unnecessary movement of unrelated persons around the girls' college during morning and afternoon timings.
