Mirpur to Observe Defence Day with National Spirit, Zeal and Fervour

Mirpur will celebrate Defence Day on September 6 with national spirit, enthusiasm, and profound respect for the martyrs and Ghazis, according to a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Sajid Aslam. The meeting, held on Tuesday, reviewed arrangements for the district-wide celebrations. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Naeem Akhtar and heads of various district departments attended.

Deputy Commissioner Aslam emphasized that Defence Day should not only be a national occasion but also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about national defence, unity, and patriotism. He highlighted the significance of September 6, 1965, the importance of national defence, and the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, a successful military operation, will also be given special attention during the ceremonies.

The meeting assigned tasks to various departments, stressing the need for dignified and effective programmes to pay tribute to martyrs and Ghazis and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to security, sovereignty, and defence. All participants were instructed to highlight the armed forces’ sacrifices and services at schools, colleges, and public gatherings.
