Mirpurkhas Youth Urged To Adopt Healthy Lifestyles At Awareness Event

MIRPURKHAS, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) An awareness event titled “Voice of Youth: My Health, My Responsibility” was organized on Wednesday by the House of Junior Leaders (HOJL) in collaboration with Public school Mirpurkhas, Bhittai Medical College & Hospital, Rotary Club Mirpurkhas and other partner organizations, focusing on promoting healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare among young people.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Faisal Soomro attended the event as chief guest. During a panel discussion, HOJL Chairman Sir Javed Iqbal posed questions on various health-related issues to WHO representative Asif Habib, Additional District Health Officer Nachal Das, DC representative Dr. Jamshed, Bhittai Medical College & Hospital’s Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, PMA General Secretary Dr. Afzal Laghari and Rotary Club President Dr. Farhan Ashraf.

The participants were briefed on:

  • Personal hygiene
  • Disease prevention
  • Healthy habits
  • Preventive healthcare measures

Speakers emphasized:

  • The importance of timely sleep and waking.
  • Balanced diet.
  • Thorough handwashing with soap before meals.
  • Personal and environmental cleanliness.
  • Responsible use of medicines (only on a doctor’s advice).
  • Proper waste disposal at designated locations for maintaining a clean environment and reducing disease spread.

They stressed that cleanliness and hygiene were the collective responsibility of every citizen.

During a question-and-answer session, young participants asked experts about health, disease prevention and the role of youth in society. The experts encouraged them to adopt healthy lifestyles and play an active role in promoting a healthier and cleaner society.

At the conclusion, participants expressed their commitment to continuing such initiatives to raise awareness among young people about health, cleanliness, and environmental responsibility.
