Monzo users are facing issues with their cards, unable to make payments or transfers following a technical problem with the digital banking service.
The firm confirmed on X that it had "identified some issues" and activated a backup system allowing users to still conduct transactions like card payments and bank transfers.
However, many users reported on the post that Monzo Stand-in was not functioning as expected, preventing them from using their cards.
Monzo stated they are "rolling out a fix and moving quickly to get full service back up and running for everyone."
The British digital bank, launched in 2015 as a mobile-first app, now boasts over 16 million personal and business customers worldwide.
While users can utilize Monzo Stand-in for card payments, cash withdrawals, card freezes, and bank transfers, some have experienced continued difficulties.
"I can’t use my card for anything at the moment," one user commented on X. Another agreed: "Your ‘backup’ bank does not have the functionality you state it does."
