MPA Pays Official Visit To Shaikh Ayaz University

SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Seema Khuram on Tuesday visited Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur, to discuss academic and administrative matters concerning the institution. She was accompanied by her son, Daniyal Ahmed, a member of the university’s Academic Council.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, along with deans, department chairpersons, the treasurer and senior administrative officials, received the MPA upon her arrival.
During a meeting at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, the participants discussed academic development, improvement of the education system, infrastructure development, provision of modern facilities for students, and promotion of research at the university.
The Vice Chancellor briefed Seema Khuram on the university’s academic programmes, faculty strength, ongoing development projects, financial challenges, and five-year development plans. He said the university was working to provide affordable and quality higher education to students from Shikarpur and adjoining districts of Upper Sindh.
Seema Khuram appreciated the university administration’s efforts to maintain academic standards despite resource constraints. She stated:
Education and research are important for the development of Sindh and stressed the need to focus on digital learning, women’s education, and skill-based programmes to improve graduates’ employment prospects.
She assured her cooperation in addressing issues related to the university’s development and added that the Sindh government was committed to strengthening public sector universities in the province’s interior districts.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh thanked the MPA for visiting the university and acknowledged her support for the installation of a modern reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant on the campus, providing clean drinking water to students and staff.
Later, Seema Khuram, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor and senior officials, visited various departments, laboratories, and the university library. She interacted with faculty members and students, reviewing the academic environment and facilities available at the institution.
