Nishtar Hospital Radiographer Suspended Over Misappropriation

Nishtar Hospital’s radiographer, Ishaq, has been suspended over allegations of misappropriating funds through fake receipts for ultrasound and X-ray services. This came to light when the hospital’s Accounts Section requested records for the financial year 2025-26. Initially resistant, Ishaq eventually submitted the records, revealing discrepancies in billing amounts.

According to official sources, Ishaq had been submitting fake receipts, showing only half of the daily collected amount, and using these to cover the difference. The estimated financial irregularity amounts to around Rs5 million. An assistant, Sher Ali, is also suspected of involvement and has since disappeared from duty.

In response, Nishtar Hospital’s Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Admin, Dr Abdul Qadir Khan, ordered Ishaq’s suspension. An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter further and determine the extent of the misappropriation. The committee expects to submit its findings within days, after which further action will be taken.
