No Active Monsoon System, Temperatures Likely To Rise In Coming Days: NDMA

A meeting chaired by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal was held to discuss operational preparedness against possible weather-related hazards. The 18th Emergency Response Committee meeting of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was attended by NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and representatives from provincial disaster management authorities, the Meteorological Department, and other relevant institutions.
The meeting reviewed Pakistan’s current weather conditions, rising temperatures, river flows, and the expected weather situation in the near future. The NDMA stated that there is currently no active monsoon system in the country and temperatures are forecasted to rise across various regions over the coming days.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need for all relevant institutions to maintain operational preparedness to address potential weather or hydrological hazards, given the anticipated temperature rise.
