No One Above Law, No Misuse Of Uniform: DIG Ali Waseem Sets Policing Priorities After Taking Charge
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) Newly appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Ali Waseem, assumed charge of his office and set law enforcement, protection of citizens, and improved service delivery as his key priorities. He warned that misuse of uniform or authority and negligence in duty would not be tolerated.
An official told APP on Tuesday that DIG Waseem chaired an introductory meeting soon after assuming charge, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Investigation Suleman Zafar, SSP Security and Administration Muhammad Shehryar Khan, zonal SPs, circle SDPOs, and SHOs.
The DIG met the officers individually and discussed professional and policing matters with them. He stated that upholding the law, protecting citizens’ lives and property, and ensuring quality service delivery would remain top priorities.
"No one is above the law," DIG Waseem said, directing police officers to perform their duties responsibly and effectively. He made it clear that misuse of uniform or authority would not be acceptable under any circumstances, adding that merit, performance, and professional competence would be prioritized.
DIG Waseem said negligence in duty or violation of law would not be tolerated. Officers showing outstanding performance would be encouraged, while those found negligent would face action without discrimination. He directed officers to work as a team to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens across the Federal capital.
The DIG also ordered effective action against crime and indiscriminate enforcement against lawbreakers.
Ali Waseem has previously served in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan in different capacities.
