Oman, UN Call For Efforts To De-escalate Regional Tensions

MUSCAT (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 10th Sep, 2026) Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Omani Foreign Minister, received a telephone call on Wednesday from António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

During the call, both sides discussed:

  • Regional developments and their humanitarian repercussions.
  • Efforts to de-escalate tensions and create conducive conditions for dialogue and diplomatic endeavors.

They agreed that addressing outstanding issues through political means was crucial.

The UN Secretary-General praised Oman’s constructive role in supporting diplomatic efforts and bridging views, emphasizing continued coordination and consultation between both parties.

Oman’s Foreign Minister affirmed the importance of:

  • Intensifying diplomatic efforts
  • Exercising wisdom and restraint
  • Allowing political and diplomatic endeavors to address tension and concerns

for the sake of security, stability, and peace in the region.
