Ombudsman Provides Rs1.278 Million Family Pension Relief In MEPCO, FESCO Cases

UrduPoint (11 September 2026) – Regional Office of Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) Faisalabad has provided a total relief of Rs1.278 million to citizens in two family pension cases, one each related to Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO).

According to a spokesperson of the ombudsman office, the Regional Office swiftly addressed complaints filed by citizens and successfully resolved their long-pending family pension issues through coordination with the concerned federal organizations.

In the MEPCO-related case, relief of Rs 278,000 was secured for the complainant in the form of outstanding dues. In the FESCO case, a citizen was provided relief of Rs 1 million.

The proceedings were overseen by Advisor Incharge Shahid Hussain Jilani and led by Deputy Registrar Yasir Shabbir Malik, who collaborated with relevant authorities to ensure the complainants received their legitimate financial entitlements.

The Regional Office emphasized that citizens facing problems or grievances concerning any federal government department, institution, or agency can approach the Wafaqi Mohtasib for redressal. The complaints are processed according to the law, with a goal to resolve cases within 60 days, providing citizens with an accessible mechanism for seeking relief without unnecessary difficulties.

Wafaqi Mohtasib is committed to delivering quick, free, and effective justice to the public and resolving their grievances stemming from maladministration within federal government organizations.
