Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, has directed hospital administrations to ensure the full operational readiness of fire safety systems across public sector health facilities in the district.

During a high-level meeting with Medical Superintendents (MS), he reviewed the availability, functionality, and operational status of fire hydrants, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency response apparatus, in light of directives issued by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Key Points:

  • A robust fire safety architecture and operational hydrants are crucial for effective emergency response.
  • Hospital management must enforce routine maintenance, conduct periodic testing, and guarantee constant functional readiness of fire safety equipment.
  • Dedicated technical staff must be on round-the-clock duty to operate emergency systems promptly. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against personnel for any attendance deficiencies or negligence.
