Over 12,000 Rescuers Deployed For Eid Milad Medical Cover Across Punjab
Rescue 1122 has been placed on high alert across Punjab on the directives of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, to ensure prompt emergency and medical services during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Secretary Emergency Services Department, told media on Wednesday that more than 12,000 rescuers had been deployed across Punjab to provide medical cover at Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) gatherings, processions and rallies, while routine emergency rescue operations would continue uninterrupted.
He stated:
- 896 ambulances
- 2,300 rescue motorcycles
- 316 fire and rescue emergency vehicles
had been positioned at important locations across Punjab to respond promptly to any emergency.
In Lahore, more than 1,300 rescuers were performing duties with:
- 55 emergency ambulances
- 300 rescue motorcycles
- 44 fire, rescue and specialized emergency vehicles
deployed at various locations, he added.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer also mentioned that additional rescue posts had been established at important locations across the province. Rescuers equipped with medical kits had been deployed near Milad gatherings, rallies and processions to provide immediate medical assistance whenever required.
He emphasized that:
- Routine emergency rescue operations were continuing alongside the special medical cover arrangements.
- Provision of immediate rescue services to the public remained the top priority.
He urged citizens to contact Rescue 1122 by dialing 1122 in case of any emergency.
