Over 1,400 Traffic Wardens, Patrolling Officers Deployed For Eid Milad Celebrations

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th Aug, 2026) City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) on Wednesday finalized comprehensive arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions and gatherings across the city, with over 1,400 traffic wardens and patrolling officers deployed under the supervision of senior police officers.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, 16 DSPs and 45 sector in-charges have also been deployed to supervise traffic arrangements and facilitate citizens. He stated that two major gatherings were being held: 172 Eid Milad-un-Nabi rallies and 125 Milad gatherings at various locations throughout the city.

The CTO clarified that no road would be completely closed for traffic during the celebrations. Instead, traffic would be diverted from designated points as processions passed through different routes, he added.

Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi emphasized special arrangements made across the city to ensure smooth traffic movement around the processions and Milad gatherings. Traffic officers and wardens had been instructed to facilitate citizens and minimize inconvenience. He noted that citizens were being regularly informed about traffic conditions, diversions, and alternative routes through Rasta FM, the Rasta mobile application, and electronic and social media platforms.

The CTO remarked that the CTPL had meticulously prepared for the processions and gatherings and urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on the roads. He further advised citizens to contact helpline 15 for any assistance or guidance regarding traffic routes and diversions.
