Over 500 Illegal Housing Schemes Face Action in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to take action against more than 500 illegal housing schemes across the province.
Action Against Illegal Schemes
According to official sources on Tuesday, notices have been issued to the housing schemes declared illegal, while the authorities have also contacted the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other federal institutions regarding the matter. The government has decided not to provide new electricity and gas connections to these illegal schemes.
Schemes by District
- Peshawar: 85 illegal housing schemes
- Mardan: 41 illegal housing schemes
- Charsadda: 41 illegal housing schemes
- Haripur: 12 illegal housing schemes
- Nowshera: 17 illegal housing schemes
- Abbottabad: 7 illegal housing schemes
Including schemes identified in other districts, the total number of illegal housing schemes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has exceeded 500.
Coordinated Action
Sources said the authorities have provided details of the illegal housing schemes to the FBR and relevant federal institutions. The move is aimed at ensuring coordinated legal and administrative action against illegal housing projects across the province.
