Pakistan High Commission Hosts Special Screening of The Legend of Maula Jatt
Pakistan High Commission hosted a special screening of the acclaimed Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt. The event was part of celebratory activities marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore.
Directed by Bilal Lashari, the film features leading actors Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hamza Ali. It is a significant production in contemporary Pakistani cinema, receiving international acclaim. Set against the vibrant cultural backdrop of Punjab, the movie explores universal themes of honor, courage, loyalty, justice, and rivalry while showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, storytelling traditions, music, costumes, and cinematic talent.
High Commissioner Rabia Shafiq, welcoming the guests, emphasized cinema’s role as a powerful tool for cultural diplomacy and people-to-people understanding. She noted that films offer an engaging method for countries to share their heritage, traditions, and contemporary identities with global audiences.
The high commissioner highlighted the success of previous screenings, including last year’s presentation of Nayab, and expressed her commitment to fostering cultural exchange through cinema.
