Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid rich tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy for protecting the country’s maritime frontiers and expressed profound respect for its martyrs and Ghazis.
In her special message on Naval Day, she stated that the Pakistan Navy had demonstrated exceptional professional capabilities on numerous occasions, showcasing its superiority over enemies through remarkable performances.
September 8 holds historical significance in Pakistan’s naval history, as it marks a landmark operation by the navy and the historic voyage of the Pakistan Navy submarine Ghazi in the Indian Ocean, highlighting the courage, determination, and expertise of its personnel.
The CM acknowledged the crucial role played by the Pakistan Navy in promoting and safeguarding maritime trade. Despite global tensions, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, the Navy ensured the uninterrupted movement of Pakistani-flagged merchant vessels. Additionally, it actively contributes to maritime diplomacy through commendable public-service initiatives and international engagements.
The induction of modern naval assets, including advanced submarines, cruise, and ballistic missile systems, has further bolstered the Pakistan Navy’s capabilities and enhanced its international standing. She expressed her prayers that the navy would continue its glorious traditions and maintain its outstanding legacy of service and sacrifice for the country.
