Pakistan Pavilion Inaugurated at CIFTIS 2026, Highlighting Expanding China-Pakistan Business Ties

BEIJING, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) The Pakistan Pavilion was inaugurated Wednesday at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026 in Beijing, bringing together Pakistani enterprises and Chinese business representatives to explore new opportunities in trade, investment, and services.
Speaking at the inauguration, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, stated that the pavilion and associated business activities are integral to Pakistan’s strategy to attract Chinese investment across 21 priority sectors.
Hashmi revealed that the Embassy of Pakistan and its four consulates in China had organized six major business-to-business (B2B) investment conferences covering areas such as agriculture, home appliances, IT and telecom, battery energy storage, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare. These conferences have secured investment commitments of $22 billion through over 650 memoranda of understanding (MOUs). Approximately 30% of these MOUs have been converted into agreements, leading to $7 billion in realized investments.
The ambassador emphasized the upcoming focus on B2B-driven cooperation and highlighted the imminent establishment of the Pakistan-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, along with plans to set up a Pakistan-China Commercial Center in Beijing’s Fengtai District.
Over two dozen Pakistani enterprises from diverse sectors, including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, trade in services, and healthcare, are participating in this year’s CIFTIS, according to Hashmi. A dedicated business conference will be held on Friday, facilitating potential partnerships between Pakistani and Chinese companies.
Hashmi expressed his enthusiasm for the pavilion, calling it a "great beginning" while acknowledging the need for sustained effort to strengthen commercial ties. He appealed for continued cooperation from businesses and institutions in both countries.
