Motorcycle crowds at petrol pumps pose challenges, making it difficult for staff to verify every rider; dealers urge consultation before scheme implementation.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Sep, 2026) The Federal government’s announced fuel relief scheme has hit snags, with the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association expressing grave reservations and highlighting administrative flaws in its execution strategy.
The association stated that thousands of petrol pumps across the country deal with massive motorcycle crowds daily, making it practically infeasible for staff to check identification documents or invoices of every rider at the pumps.
Dealers argued that without a clear digital mechanism for checking invoices, the process could lead to disputes between riders and pump staff, longer queues, and unpleasant experiences. In light of these concerns, the PPDA is convening an emergency meeting this evening with dealers nationwide to discuss the technical aspects, administrative procedures, and potential challenges related to the fuel relief scheme in detail.
