Pakistan’s Defence Capability, Diplomacy Essential For Regional Peace: PA Speaker
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2026) Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, has stated that Pakistan demonstrated its robust defence capability during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, allowing the world to witness the country’s military and technological prowess.
He emphasized that while Pakistan's defence capability has bolstered national security and public confidence, disputes between nations should be resolved through diplomacy, dialogue, and peaceful means, rather than resorting to war. Wars, he noted, bring about immense losses for civilians, economies, and infrastructure, making responsible conduct and sustained diplomatic efforts crucial for lasting regional peace.
The Speaker highlighted Pakistan's diplomatic efforts in promoting peace while safeguarding its national interests during challenging regional circumstances. He addressed the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, suggesting that Pakistan must balance its focus on economic stability, inflation control, social order, and development goals with continued strengthening of its defence capabilities.
He praised the business community’s resilience and investment despite challenging times, viewing it as a positive sign and a beacon of hope. Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan emphasized the need for consistent national policies and sustained development efforts, rather than frequent policy shifts.
