Parliament Right Forum for Debate on New Provinces: Aqeel Malik
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, on Wednesday stated that Parliament is the appropriate platform to discuss the establishment of new provinces, emphasizing the importance of considering public opinion before any decision.
Speaking to a private television channel, Malik noted that the primary concerns of people are better healthcare, education, roads, and other basic amenities in their respective areas. He advocated for addressing these needs before focusing on administrative reforms.
Regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned long march, the minister expressed concern about the party’s history of creating law and order issues during protests. He prioritized maintaining peace and public safety during political activities.
