France Train Derailment Leaves At Least 44 Injured
BBC News reports on a recent incident in France where a passenger train derailed near the commune of Cléon, just south of Rouen, leaving at least 44 people injured, one of whom is in critical condition.
180 passengers were onboard the train traveling between Rouen and Caen at the time of the accident on Friday evening. 140 firefighters and emergency teams responded to the scene.
Photographs emerged showing three carriages overturned. France’s state-owned railway operator, SNCF, reported "significant disruptions" in the area and promised replacement buses.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
