PDMA Deploys Emergency Relief Resources, Rescue Force Following Ziarat Cross Incident

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Balochistan has launched an immediate emergency response following an incident at Ziarat Cross, deploying a substantial number of rescue personnel, ambulances, firefighting vehicles and other relief resources to deal with the situation.
This emergency response was initiated on the special directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Relief Commissioner/Director General PDMA Jahanzeb Khan Ghorizai. Acting on the instructions of the provincial authorities, the PDMA Rescue Force was dispatched to Ziarat Cross during the early hours of September 1.
According to the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) of PDMA Balochistan, the rescue operation began at approximately 2:15 am, when a dedicated team was sent to the affected area under the supervision of Director Rescue Naveed Ahmed.
As part of this emergency deployment, PDMA has sent:
- 12 ambulances
- Four fire trucks
- Two water bowsers
- 24 trained rescuers
to Ziarat Cross. These resources have been strategically positioned to respond immediately to any developing emergency and provide assistance to people affected by the incident.
The deployed ambulances are prepared to offer immediate medical aid and transport injured individuals, while the fire trucks and water bowsers stand ready for firefighting and other emergency operations.
The PEOC stated that rescue teams have been instructed to remain fully prepared and take swift action as required. They are equipped with the necessary tools to conduct rescue operations, assist the injured, and respond to any potential fires or other emergencies that may arise at the site.
An official from PDMA revealed that the emergency response is being meticulously monitored through the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre. The authority maintains constant communication and coordination with all relevant departments and agencies involved in the effort.
They also emphasized that further deployments are possible, with additional relief and rescue resources on standby if needed. This ongoing coordination ensures that any emerging needs at Ziarat Cross can be swiftly addressed.
This deployment exemplifies the provincial disaster management authorities’ commitment to maintaining a robust emergency response mechanism and ensuring the availability of essential rescue, firefighting, and medical resources during critical situations.
PEOC/PDMA assured continued monitoring of the situation, emphasizing that rescue and relief teams will remain on alert until all emergency response requirements at the site are fully met.
