PESCO Removes 67 Illegal Connections, Recovers Rs 2.1m Dues in Dera Ismail Khan
Peshawar Electric Power Company (PESCO) has removed 67 illegal direct connections and recovered over Rs 2.1 million in outstanding dues during a crackdown on power theft in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank.
The campaign was led by Dera Circle Superintending Engineer Hizbullah Khan Mehsud and Executive Engineers from various divisions.
During the operation, several illegal connections were removed, and reports against electricity theft were filed with local police stations for further legal action. Notable removals included:
- A 50-KVA transformer in Asifabad on the 11-KV Sagu feeder due to direct theft through illegal hooks.
- Two 200-KVA transformers at Sana Garden on Tank Road, along with associated high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) leads and SY-2 units, for similar reasons.
- A 50-KVA transformer on the 11-KV Sheikh Yousaf feeder due to outstanding dues and power theft.
Similar operations were conducted in Colony Basti Dewala, Muryali, Qureshi Morr, and Muslim Bazaar.
SE Hizbullah Khan Mehsud emphasized that the campaign against power theft and debt recovery would continue without exception, with legal action taken against all offenders.
