PFA Inspects 41 Water Filtration Plants
Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams inspected 41 water filtration plants across the district, imposing Rs10,000 fines on two plants for minor deficiencies. According to a PFA spokesman, the teams collected water samples to assess quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
The samples were sent to laboratories for testing, where 22 were found unfit due to the presence of specified bacteria. Following the results, 22 filtration plants were closed until corrective measures were taken, while two others were fined for minor deficiencies.
The spokesman stated that inspections and sampling of water filtration plants were continuing across the province to ensure the provision of safe and hygienic drinking water to citizens.
